WHAT I DON’T ALWAYS SHARE ON HERE

Realtor sitting on desk in office with arms open, welcoming and approachable

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how hard it is to show up online in a way that is actually meaningful but also authentic.  There’s so much content out there, especially in real estate, and I never want to just post for the sake of posting or add to the noise. I want it to actually mean something.  I want be helpful, or at the very least, be real.

So I decided to give myself a little bit of structure without overcomplicating things.

On Tuesdays, I’m going to focus on sharing information about various topics buyers, sellers, and homeowners can actually use. Not the cookie-cutter advice, but the kind of information I find myself explaining over and over again in real conversations.

No scripts, no pressure… just real conversations about what makes sense for you.

And then Saturdays, I’m going to blog more of my thoughts. The behind the scenes parts of this business (and life in general) that don’t always fit into a neat little post. Saturdays will be less polished and more real. I’ll be writing what’s on my mind and saying things the way I actually say them.

I think there’s room for both and I probably need both. So forgive me if Saturdays are more in journal format. I could have my next 50 blogs scheduled in 2.1 seconds using AI, and they’d probably sound smoother and check all the SEO boxes, but they wouldn’t sound like me.

And if they don’t sound like me, they’re not going to connect with the people I actually want to work with. If I show up here sounding like an overly polished robot who is perfectly structured, who somehow over explains and says a whole lot without really saying anything, and then you meet me in real life and I’m like, “Hey, y’all…” and proceed to keep it real, that’s kind of false advertising.

Also, disclaimer:  If you can’t handle a run-on sentence here and there or a little real talk, my Saturday posts might not be for you. I plan to have some structure but not so much that it stops sounding like me.

This aligns because I’d truly rather be understood by the right people than sound polished for everyone.

I’ve tried to be more present on Facebook, too.  I haven’t slowed down enough to share all the “just sold” or “pending” posts the minute  I get a client under contract or the minute we stand up from the closing table.

And full transparency, I think people are getting a little fatigued from all that anyway.

There’s so much of it. Plus, I don’t ever want to come across as “look at me.” That’s never been what this is about for me.

But, there’s also another side to consider.

It’s not always easy to show people what you’re really about, especially online. I have to show people that I am doing business, but I’m not too busy. That I’m successful, but I still have the time and ability to truly take care of them. I have to figure out ways to hopefully show people that I’m trustworthy and genuinely have their best interests at heart without saying, “I’m honest.” Because, in my experience, good people usually don’t have to walk around saying, “I’m a good person” or “I’m honest.”  🙂 The goodness and honesty are shown by the actions. How do people you don’t know see the actions if you don’t share experiences? The struggle is real.

Here’s even more transparency:

I’m actively looking for a few listings. As in, homeowners who are ready to sell and want the kind of guidance that actually makes a difference from start to finish.

I’ve been really busy lately, in all the best ways. I’ve been helping people sell their homes, helping buyers find the right homes.  And not just find them, but actually get them under contract and all the way to the closing table. A few of those paths have had some unexpected turns, but by having the right consultation and strategy, most bumps in the road are foreseen. And for the unforeseen, there was (and always will be) strategy and back up plans.

Because of all that, my “For Sale” signs have been coming out of the ground. (Which is the goal!)

But it also means I need a few new places to put them.

Is this whole thing a sales pitch? No. Am I hoping this blog post helps connect me with the right people? Yes. Would I love the opportunity to meet with those people and determine if we are a good fit to work together? Absolutely, yes!  At the same time, I know I’m not for everyone and everyone isn’t for me. And that’s okay because the right fit matters.

I want to work with people who understand the value of having the right person guiding the process, not just someone to unlock doors or put a sign in the yard.

I give full service and I’m not what you would consider a ‘discount agent’. That doesn’t mean I’ve never adjusted things when it made sense, but it’s never the starting point, and it’s never the deciding factor.

What matters more to me is that everything is based on real information.  That includes all of it: the pricing, timing, the expectations, and the bottom line.

If someone tells me, “List it at this number or I’ll find someone who will,” my response isn’t to agree just to get the listing. It’s to have an actual conversation.

Sometimes that means confirming it’s a great price for the timeframe they want but it could also mean explaining what that price could look like if they’re okay with a longer timeline.
Or it could even mean showing that they could likely get more.

But it has to be based on facts, not guesswork. The facts come out during conversations and if those conversations don’t line up, I’m okay walking away from the listing. I’d rather give realistic expectations and do it the right way rather than just agree and hope it eventually gets done.

I say all this because I know what I bring to the table. I know how I show up for people, and I’ve seen the difference it makes when someone has the right guidance through this process, especially when things don’t go exactly as planned. (which is pretty much every time)

So if you’ve been thinking about selling, even if it’s just been in the back of your mind, I’m here. No pressure, just a conversation about what makes sense for you.

And if it’s not you, who do you know?
